Shows to watch when you want to laugh
One thing that I am known for in my family is the amount of TV that I watch. I love tv and always have and watch a lot of it. Some of the best television is comedy and I love watching a funny show before bed and often rewatch series that I love over and over again.
So here are some of the best comedy shows you should watch when you need a laugh. I’m sharing a brief description of the show, where you can watch it and my favorite episode.

Now streaming services are changing rapidly so where to watch is current as of today and I will make an effort to update things when shows movie from one platform to another.
1.Schitt’s Creek
A wealthy family loses everything except for the ownership of a small, middle-of-nowhere town, which they once bought as a gag gift. Starting their lives over in this town, the family members grow into more well-rounded people, while still maintaining a few comically out-of-place trappings of aristocracy.
Where to watch: Netflix seasons 1-5 Season 6 will be premiering in 2020 on POP
Favorite episode: This is hard to choose. Season 4 is the best season so far and I love them all especially open mic season 4 episode 6
2.The Office
One of the most popular Netflix comedy series! This multi-award-winning series follows the day to day lives of office employees living in Scranton, PA. This is an extremely bingeable series and everytime I rewatch it I notice new funny things going on in the background.
Where to watch: Netflix seasons 1-9
Favorite episode: Dinner Party is considered one of the very best and I agree it’s incredible. Season 4 Episode 9 Also Stress Relief parts 1 and 2 Season 5 episodes 14 and 15.
3.The Good Place
Where to watch: Seasons 1-4 on Netflix Season 5 is airing Thursdays now on NBC
Favorite episode: The standout episode is the first season Finale though most episodes are amazing. My husband and I are constantly quoting lines to this show to each other.
4. Brooklyn 99
Where to watch: Seasons 1-6 On Hulu and Season 7 will be on NBC in 2020
Favorite episode: The Haloween Heist episodes are the best Season 1 episode 6, Season 2 Episode 4, Season 3 Episode 5, Season 4 Episode 5.
5. Parks and Rec
The absurd antics of an Indiana town’s public officials as they pursue sundry projects to make their city a better place
Where to watch: Seasons 1-7 are on both Netflix and Hulu
Favorite episode: I love the episode The Fight on Season 3 Episode 13
6. Superstore
An oddball family of employees at supersized megastore Cloud 9 tackles the day-to-day grind of rabid bargain hunters, riot-causing sales and nap-worthy training sessions. Stalwart employee Amy is just trying to hold it all together despite the best efforts of her daftly clueless manager Glen and his iron-fisted assistant Dina. Rounding out the crew is new hire Jonah, a dreamy dreamer, sardonic Garrett, ambitious Mateo and sweet young mother-to-be Cheyenne. From bright-eyed newbies to seen-it-all veterans, bumbling seasonal hires and in-it-for-life managers, they’re all going to get through another day — together.
Where to watch: Seasons 1-4 are on Hulu and Season 5 is currently airing on NBC
Favorite episode: Season 1 Episode 21 is a great one. Though it does get better as the show goes on Season 4 was the best.
7. Dead to Me
Where to watch: Season 1 is on Netflix and season 2 is coming in 2020
Favorite episode: It’s hard to pick a favorite. There are only 10 episodes and they all go together so well. I was sick and watched them all in a day.
8. Scrubs
In the unreal world of Sacred Heart Hospital, intern John “J.D.” Dorian learns the ways of medicine, friendship, and life.

9. 30 Rock
Liz Lemon (Tina Fey), head writer of the sketch comedy show “TGS with Tracy Jordan”, must deal with an arrogant new boss and a crazy new star, all while trying to run a successful television show without losing her mind.

10. Psych
Where to watch: Seasons 1-8 and the 1st Psych movie are on Amazon Prime. A second movie is coming soon.
Favorite episode: The final episodes of season 3 and 4 are the best
11.Crazy ex-Girlfriend
Where to watch: Seasons 1-4 are on Netflix
Favorite episode: There are so many great musical numbers that are hilarious but I don’t remember the episodes they are in. I need to rewatch this show.
12. Community
A suspended lawyer is forced to enroll in a community college with an eclectic staff and student body/
Where to watch: Seasons 1-6 are on Hulu
Favorite episode: The paintball episodes Season 1 episodes 23 and Season 2 Episodes 23 and 24
13.New Girl
Who’s that girl? It’s Jess! Zooey Deschanel stars as a quirky and newly single girl who has moved into an all-male apartment.
Where to Watch: Seasons 1-7 are on Netflix
Favorite Episode Season 2 Episode 15 is one of my favorites
14. Grace and Frankie
Where to Watch: Seasons 1-5 are on Netflix with Season 6 airing in 2020
Favorite Episode: Season 2 Episode 13 is fantastic
